John Heine,
rock star, scientist, U.S. Senator, World-renowned brain surgeon, and astronaut are but a few of the things John could have been had he listened to his family and friends. But instead he decided to pursue his life-long dream to be an artist... doh!!

Along with his twin brother Don, John was born in 1950 in Washington, DC. The oldest of six kids, John grew up in the South, mostly in Alabama and Georgia, as well as Tennessee.

He currently lives in Birmingham, where he has been living for the past 23 years. Growing up, his biggest artistic influences have been everything from the humor of early Mad Magazine and the irony of Saul Steinberg to the passion of Picasso and the spontaneity of Outsider Art.
